I was accepted a month ago. Some messages every few days. The numbers told me there were hundreds looking at my profile. The site messaged me that I was in the top 5%, so they offered me a discount so I would buy more viewing capability. This could be a lie to bait me to buy from them but I paid nothing to this site. But there were definitely men inviting me for dinners, walks in the moonlight, and personal messages from these men; some proposing I move in with them, some even speaking about marriage and children. Even some women messaged to me; one told me about another elite dating site for millionaires and people successful in the arts.

Re: The Ugly Statistics of Online Dating

I was accepted to beautifulpeople.com a month ago. Interesting experience. Since my heritage is Norwegian Swedish and I graduated from school in DK, I listed my home from where my family is from, even though I grew up mostly in the US. I travel a lot, and view this as a social experiment about perceptions. I was offered a discount to message members, was told I was in the top 5% most popular. I think this is business ploy by the site to sell more. I saw that most of the people on beautifulpeople.com are looking average, but most men would be considered ugly. It was shocking how ugly most of the accepted males are. I expected a group of the worlds most beautiful people, but instead see a group of average women, where I saw much better on the streets of the countries they are from, and most of the men, I doubt if any woman would date. What is strange about this site is that there isn’t much idea about the personalities of the members. Just a few basic facts like weight, height, education, etc. Not many of the men write something about themselves, which makes them very boring, even the few who seem attractive. I’ve never visited a dating site but if this is the norm, it’s not impressive for dating, nor for seeing beautiful people around the world. The acceptance on men should definitely be more strict, and a lot of the women too, especially those from Poland and Germany, who were in most cases strange and scary looking, like science projects, or very plain at best. This reaction is normal for these countries because there are not many attractive women from Poland or Germany; they are not at all in resemblance to their neighbors, like Ukraine and Slovakia. This is not a site that should have a title that includes the words “beautiful people.” I am not being dishonest or inaccurate. I travel extensively, and see so much better in my travels. If anyone calls this site snobbish, they must be even more unfortunate looking than the members on this site, especially the males. This site is not selective enough. I think it allows people membership who are less than attractive, to absolute scary looking, to make more money. I think it is a scam. If this is a normal example of a dating site, with no true measure of personality to match w a photo, dating sites will not serve people the best who want to find someone suitable for friendship, dating or relationship.

Re: Babes in Boyland: Why Women Are Getting Hotter

Absolutely.
